Products with a real #story? 🫶 This has been part of Arbofino since the very beginning. But how do you convey an authentic story when it is also about the shopping experience? 🛍️ Restor, which launched its new Restor App (https://restor-app.eco/en) in time for the holiday season 🎄, impressively demonstrates how it's done!   For several years, our projects have been listed on Restor.eco, a spin-off of ETH Zürich and the world's largest map-based and #science-focused platform for the #restoration of nature. In collaboration with Ubique Innovation (developer of the SBB CFF FFS and Meteo Swiss app), Restor has now launched a unique app for #sustainable 🌎 #gifts 🎁 that are not only beautiful 🌸 and delicious 😋, but also help to regenerate #nature 🌳 🦋 and support local #livelihoods 🫂. Discover the emotional stories of these producers who want to make a difference with their offers. Thanks to Restor's map platform, the Restor App, which is currently only available in Switzerland, shows exactly where a product comes from.   We are thrilled to be part of this ingenious pilot project and to be able to offer our four #chocolate varieties 🍫 made from our own #organic cacao 🌱 🐝 through the Restor App. In the video, we briefly present the Arbofino story in the App. And the best, you’re still in time to place your orders for special, #impactful #Christmas presents! 🎄 🎁 💕   By the way, our story con be visited in #Ecuador at any time. Bienvenidos!   We thank Restor.eco team for their enormous commitment to the restoration of nature and their #pioneering spirit when it comes to #innovative solutions for nature and sustainable producers. 👏 💪 🫶 The Restor App (English and German) can be downloaded here : https://restor-app.eco/en

  • #COP16 – It was a pleasure, a privilege and a great enrichment to participate in this extraordinary, energy-filled event in #Cali, #Colombia. One thing is more evident than ever: there is no #change without collaboration! Even if this change is happening far too slowly, it is wonderful to see that an impressive amount of people representing numerous stakeholders is working hard to halt and reverse the loss of #biodiversity.   At COP16 it also became clear one more time that it takes too long to unlock #capital and that we need more sense of #urgency. This means that we also must work together with those who are seen by many as part of the problem. Actually, here we have to be honest with ourselves: for example, anyone who uses a cell phone is to some extent also part of the problem (Side note: The Fairphone is undoubtedly the best alternative in this respect.). Simply put, as long as we use products with substances from mines, we cannot say that we do not want mines, as harmful as they are in most cases. Either we do without (difficult...) or we make sure that mine operators and governments minimize the damage as much as possible, avoid operating in the most sensitive regions, offset unavoidable damage and respect the rights of indigenous communities and the local population at any time. This is just one example of many underlining that we need to look for solutions that are realistic and have the necessary leverage. Without doubt a huge challenge!   Conferences like #COP16 are crucial for governments, multinationals, startups, NGOs, science and research as well as communities to exchange ideas, to work together in finding solutions and to set clear targets. In the constant hope of making big steps, we must not despair when the steps are sometimes only small. But time is running out. If we stick to these small steps, we will be overwhelmed by the consequences.   I would like to share a few inspiring statements from COP16: 💡 “We should not always focus on minimizing risk but focus on doing good.” (Thorsten Arndt, PEFC International) 💡 “Economists are not shy in talking about ecology, it's time that ecologists start to talk more about economics and the economic aspects of an ecological transformation.” (Tony Juniper CBE, Natural England) 💡 “With tourism, we touch the soul of humanity.“ (Josefina Klinger, Mano Cambiada Foundation) 💡 “Dependency on nature and nature systems is ever increasing, despite our technological time.” (Akanksha Khatri, World Economic Forum) 💡 “We must make sure that communities get meaningful work to protect nature that is being compensated.” (Edwards Lezama, #Indigenous Leader Colombia)   To close, Tony Juniper CBE also mentioned the importance of shifting companies to purpose, not only profits. Exactly what Arbofino has been doing since the very beginning! Let us keep up the momentum of CBD COP16 in creating even more positive #impact together.

  • Action speaks louder than words! We are happy to present the first Swiss Green Economy Symposium (SGES) forest conservation plot on our Reserva Ceiba in Ecuador! The generous support of the SGES has made it possible to purchase and protect through our non-profit Foundation Bosquefino one hectare of valuable tropical moist forest, to ensure its long-term monitoring, and to implement social and scientific projects. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for this fantastic support, also on behalf of all the animals and plants that call this forest home! We would also like to thank the SGES team for an outstanding and once again perfectly organized Symposium, where Arbofino had the opportunity to share its passion for nature conservation and real positive impact with a booth in the Innovation Exhibition and an impulse speech at the Innovation Forum for Biodiversity. We are already looking forward to next year's Swiss Green Economy Symposium from September 2 to 4, 2025. #forestconservation #biodiversity #SDG

  • Today we raised the flag for SDG Flag Day! For us, the UN Sustainable Development Goals mean more than just beautiful marketing. We raise this flag out of pride and conviction, because our entire business model at Arbofino is based on contributing to these goals.   These 17 SDG summarize concisely what is needed to achieve a better world. However, recent analyses have again shown that most goals are not on track. This is not surprising when you consider how many companies and governments still claim to be forerunners, but then lack the courage to tackle these goals with the necessary consistency. And shareholders talk too often about the importance of a sustainable economy, but as soon as there is a possibility of a lower return, shareholder value maximization is back in the spotlight.   It takes more consistency from all sides if we want to get the goals on track in time. This requires also the willingness to not gain advantages at the expense of others.   The priorities of Arbofino are based on goals 8 (decent work and economic growth), 12 (responsible consumption and production), 13 (climate action), 15 (life on land) and 17 (partnerships for the goals). We are happy to show you what consistency means to us. Thank you UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein for your commitment to a better world. #SDG #sustainableeconomy #conservation

  • Swiss Green Economy Symposium (SGES) goes Ecuador - with its own reforestation and forest conservation plots in our Reserva Ceiba! For every participant at the SGES, an amount is donated to Arbofino's nature conservation projects.   During a personal visit to the site two years ago, the SGES organizers were able to see the impactful and transparent implementation of the projects for themselves. Inspired by our dedicated team in Ecuador and our holistic approach combining biodiversity promotion, climate protection, scientific and social projects, the SGES would like to make a concrete, measurable contribution to our nature conservation projects with its own reforestation and forest conservation plots. The Reservas are owned by our charitable foundation Bosquefino, which guarantees the permanence of the projects.   Let's make an even greater impact together! All SGES participants and interested parties can further increase the SGES plots with an additional, personal contribution via our SGES partner page: https://lnkd.in/db59kzJa. Simply select the appropriate product and the number of square meters (REFORESTATION, FOREST CONSERVATION or MIX).   We would like to thank the SGES for its valuable support and appreciate every additional contribution to our nature conservation projects.   #SwissGreenEconomySymposium #Conservation #Biodiversity #Reforestation #Ecuador

  • We couldn't resist and created three more chocolate varieties! Besides our recent Craft Dark Chocolate (70%), for which we have received wonderful feedback, we now also have Milk (45%), Amazon Nut (70%) and Mango (70%) on offer! You can now buy these directly in our Forest Shop (https://lnkd.in/dph8e4iV).   Our Ecuadorian chocolatier HUMA is always open to new experiments. But what they hold just as sacred as we do is quality! The selection of the best cacao fruits from our organic mixed cultivation (where numerous wild animals and birds roam!), fermentation and drying are carried out by our own team on the finca. Afterwards, during chocolate production in Quito, we are in close contact with the HUMA team.   We spare no effort to meet our sustainability standards. This can be particularly challenging as not everything in Ecuador is easily available in organic quality. After a long search, for example, we finally found a small supplier of dried organic mangoes. However, we had to import the organic sugar from Colombia.   We are delighted with the result. Of course, we appreciate any feedback! And if you know potential resellers who also value real impact, transparency and authentic storytelling, we look forward to hearing from you.   Shipping note: As we do not yet have any chocolate cream on offer, we have to limit shipping in summer when temperatures are very high. In the Zurich area, however, we can also deliver them personally if required. After all, our motto for everything is: Personal & impactful. #organicchocolate #organiccacao #ecuador #conservation

Biodiversity is declining at an unprecedented rate. Around 40% of Earth's land surfaces are now degraded, while over 50% of the global GDP relies on nature and its services. Understanding the implications of this rapid decline in biodiversity is essential for advancing conservation efforts. Read the full article here: https://broadpeak.ch/blog Special thanks to Jacolette Adam (Exigent Environmental Group), Esteban Brenes (WWF), Adessou Kossivi (GNDR), Beatriz Merino (The Nature Conservancy), Aro RATOVONOMENJANAHARY (ex-Eramet), and Dominic Ziegler (Arbofino AG), for their time and valuable insights. It is fantastic that Climeworks recognizes und emphasizes the importance of a broad-based approach to scaling carbon removal with their Carbon Removal Summit. We need to step up our efforts at various levels if we want to achieve the climate targets. At Arbofino, we want to lead by example and show what a high-quality nature-based solution means. This is not just about sequestering carbon but also about promoting biodiversity and social engagement. However, technical solutions will also play an important role in tackling climate change. This makes mutual support and an intensive exchange all the more important in order to shape a sustainable future thanks to innovative products and services.

Ecopreneur & CEO Arbofino AG - Forestry Impact Investment / Natural Reforestation for CO2 Offsetting and Biodiversity / Organic Cacao

With it's upcoming Carbon Removal Summit Climeworks wants to recognize the importance of a diversified approach to scaling carbon removal. This means high quality, durable and verifiable carbon capture solutions. I am looking forward to an exciting event tomorrow and I am happy to share my motto, which participants can write in the event app: "Walk the talk! Otherwise just stop talking..." Too little has happened so far. We need concrete measures and actions more than ever. This includes technical solutions (e.g. Climeworks) as well as nature-based ones (e.g. Arbofino AG). It is crucial that we continue to step up our efforts to counter climate change and biodiversity loss with measurable and verifiable solutions. So let's not just talk the talk, let's walk the walk. #CarbonRemovalSummit #Biodiversity #Reforestation #Conservation
